The Wegovy Tablet (oral semaglutide) costs from £115 per month in the UK, with the 25mg maintenance dose priced at £190 per month at The Weight Clinic. Your price depends on the dose you reach, and treatment is only supplied after a clinical consultation with a GPhC-registered prescriber.

Below you'll find the full price breakdown by dose, what the monthly cost includes, and the practical detail you need before you decide.

Wegovy Tablet UK price by dose

The Wegovy Tablet is titrated gradually. You start on a low dose to help your body adjust, then step up over several weeks towards the 25mg maintenance dose. Because different doses carry different prices, your monthly cost changes as you move up.

The 25mg tablet is the highest licensed dose and the one most people work towards for ongoing weight management. At £190 per month, it sits below the price of the higher injectable doses. You can see live pricing for each step on the Wegovy Tablet page.

Is the Wegovy Tablet available now?

Yes. The Wegovy Tablet launched in July 2026 and is live and in stock. It is a genuine, MHRA-licensed medicine dispensed by our own UK pharmacy — not an unlicensed or overseas product.

It contains the same active medicine as the Wegovy injection (semaglutide), taken as a once-daily tablet rather than a weekly injection. That makes it a useful option if you would prefer not to inject.

What's included in the monthly price?

The price you see covers the medicine itself, dispensed by our GPhC-registered pharmacy, along with the prescriber support that comes with a regulated service. Specifically:

  • The genuine, MHRA-licensed medicine at your prescribed dose.
  • Review by a GPhC-registered independent prescriber before dispensing.
  • Dispensing by our own UK pharmacy and tracked delivery.
  • Ongoing prescriber support as you titrate and continue treatment.

The initial online consultation is free — you only pay if a treatment is prescribed and you choose to go ahead. You can begin with a free eligibility check.

How the Wegovy Tablet is taken

One detail matters for value as well as safety: how you take it. The Wegovy Tablet must be taken first thing on an empty stomach with a small sip of plain water. You then wait at least 30 minutes before eating, drinking anything else, or taking other medicines.

This is because oral semaglutide is absorbed poorly when taken with food. Taken incorrectly, it is far less effective — so following the routine closely is what helps you get the benefit you are paying for.

What results does the 25mg dose achieve?

In the OASIS 4 trial, adults on oral semaglutide 25mg lost on average 16.6% of their body weight over 64 weeks, alongside lifestyle support. Individual results vary; not everyone reaches this.

These results come alongside changes to diet and activity — the medicine supports appetite control, but lifestyle changes remain central. Trial figures are averages and are not a promise of your own outcome.

How the price compares with other treatments

The Weight Clinic offers several licensed options at different price points. Comparing starting and top-dose prices can help you understand where the Wegovy Tablet sits.

Wegovy injectionOnce-weekly injection£115£245 (7.2mg)

Price is only one factor. The right treatment depends on your health, preferences and what a prescriber judges to be clinically appropriate. You can browse everything on the treatments overview or the weight-loss injections page.

Who the Wegovy Tablet may suit

Eligibility is assessed at consultation. In general, weight-loss medicines may be considered if you are aged 18 or over and have a BMI of 30 or more, or a BMI of 27–30 with a weight-related condition such as type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure or sleep apnoea.

It is not suitable if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding; have type 1 diabetes; a personal or family history of medullary thyroid cancer or MEN2; a history of pancreatitis; severe gastrointestinal disease; an active eating disorder; severe liver or kidney impairment; or a known allergy to the active ingredient.

Side effects to be aware of

As a GLP-1 medicine, the Wegovy Tablet shares the same side-effect profile as others in its class. The most common effects (affecting more than 1 in 10 people) include nausea, diarrhoea, constipation, vomiting, decreased appetite and fatigue. These are often more noticeable early on or after a dose increase.

Serious but rare effects include severe allergic reaction, acute pancreatitis, severe hypoglycaemia and severe gastrointestinal disease. If you experience anything concerning, seek medical advice. You can report suspected side effects through the MHRA Yellow Card scheme at https://yellowcard.mhra.gov.uk/.

How to get started

The Wegovy Tablet is a Prescription-Only Medicine, available only after a clinical consultation with a GPhC-registered prescriber. A prescription is issued only if it is clinically appropriate — treatment is never guaranteed.

  1. Complete a free online consultation about your health and weight.
  2. A registered prescriber reviews your answers to check treatment is safe and appropriate.
  3. A short video consultation takes place where clinically needed.
  4. If suitable, the medicine is dispensed by our UK pharmacy and sent by tracked delivery.
